Well, Billboard has decided that their Hot 100 list just isn't hot enough. They want to know the hottest songs RIGHT NOW!
So they're teaming with Twitter to create the Billboard Twitter Real-Time Charts!
Using data culled from the social networking site, Billboard will measure the top artists of the moment IN the moment based on what's being talked about and shared the most.
Twitter's Head Of Music Bob Moczydlowsky said:
"We're partnering with Billboard to create a ground-breaking chart to track the conversation around music as it happens. This means when artists share songs and engage with their audience on Twitter, the buzz they create will now be visible to fans, other musicians and industry decision makers in real time."It's a revolutionary new way to track popularity, and we can't wait to see it in action!
Of course, by the time you get down to number 67, number one is likely to have changed five times…
